Who We Are

ReDeTec is an advanced plastics manufacturing company, and an industry leader in the 3D Printer Filament Extrusion and Recycling Space.

Our flagship product, ProtoCycler+, allows users to make their own filament for 3D printing, recycle 3D printing waste, and experiment with the making of novel plastic filaments.

We take pride in the fact that our clients rely on us for the best extrusion technology on the market, lowering their ecological footprint, and providing the most comprehensive software for making new plastics.

Our Journey

Our journey began in the early 2010s, when we realized how much waste was being produced by the 3D printing ecosystem. Concerned by the environmental and economical implications, we decided to tackle the problem by building a machine that could recycle waste back into filament.

We failed more times than we succeeded; but one success was all it took. We won an entrepreneurship grant, dropped out of school, moved to Toronto, and spent the next year researching and developing our technology.

Unfortunately, getting the technology right would be the easy part. After raising money through an incredibly successful Indiegogo campaign, we began to produce and ship the units. But we faced endless trials and tribulations dealing with manufacturers, inspectors, and the fact that our factory was being bulldozed to build a condo (a truly Toronto problem). We were on the verge of bankruptcy. 

But we persevered and came back swinging - with the first fully integrated and automated plastics processing, and recycling system. And by the turn of the new decade we were profitable! Since then we have shipped units to over 30 countries around the world.

ReDeTec today is successfully shipping the ProtoCycler+, working on expanding our product and material ecosystem, and are partnered with industry experts and schools to develop the industrial scale of our technology - to help the global plastics and GHG emissions problem.
